Hilsen fra Kenya.

Sunday, October 30, 2011 Greetings from YWAM Athi River Base, Kenya. Its my hope that you are well and the Lord has kept you.As a family we are doing well and we thank God for this far.
In Kenya this time its very unsafe especailly in big towns and near Somalia. Our army is in Somalia fighting with Somalia Alshabab. Many countries are insecure with their citizens coming to Kenya. Somalia millitia are causing trouble in Kenya and the country is in high alert. Security breefed up everywhere. Its the fist time our country is at war. Few people have lost their lives through Somali millitia revenge with hand grenades especailly in Nairobi but we are all safe. We have some safety precations and the 1st is to trust in the Lord. We are grateful for the Lords protection. My family is doing well . Our son doing well in pre school. My wife and I are leading the dischipleship training school and we are happy to see what the Lord is doing in our lives and our students. We are in our fourth week of dts. God has blessed us with great men and women of God who every week have imparted in the lives of our students. In the four weeks we have been able to learn different topics. Our 1st week we had introduction and orientation in YWAM and missions. We also had time to do activities for team building. Having been blessed with 26 students from different nationalities it helped us to embrace each other and learn more how to work as a team. Our second week we learnt about prayer and spending time with the Lord. This is a good topic coz its forms the foundation of our time here and our walk with the Lord.We learnt about knowing God is the goal of every Christian and the only way to know the Lord better is to spend time with Him.Our 3rd week was amazing also. It was a very emotional week. Many students spent time crying. The topic was not crying but the father heart of God. We understood how God is our father and how He placed our earthly fathers to potray his image. Most of our students come from a hurting families. We had a time of prayers and encouraging the to forgive their earthly fathers and even we encouraged them to write a letter to God their father and also their earthly fathers. We all promised to be good fathers and mothers and allow our children to understand God as a father through us.This week we learnt about sin, restitution and true repentance. It was a good week to do soul searching and see the offensive ways in our lives. We learnt about how sin has affected the world and how we can live a holy life. we thank the Lord for this far he has come with us. Our theme for this dta is Jeremiah 33:3.. that says seek me and you will find me, and Iwill show you great and unsearchable things you dont know. So far the Lord is revealing great things in our lives. Join us in this adventure with the Lord through prayer.
Pray that the Lord will keep us safe since there is insecurity in Kenya.
Also pray that fear will not affect the foreigners coz of Somali millitia who are fighting now.
We shall be happy to hear from you.
